1. What is KGALERT?
This service allows you to opt-in to receive notifications via phone, text or email for King George County.
2. When is the system be used?
This system will be used to notify you about imminent threats to health and safety, as well as informational notifications that affect your home address and other interests in King George County. Administrators of the system will send notifications regarding severe weather, road closures, shelter information, lost persons and more. Civic and non-emergency messages are occasionally sent out by KGALERT.
3. What if my phone number or email address changes?
The system is only as good as the information you provide. If your contact information changes, you can always visit your profile and update your information by clicking the green bar at the top of this page.
4. Why do you need my address?
Public safety officials can target messages to particular locations (missing child, hazmat evacuation) saving time and reduce unnecessary messages. This feature only works with addresses in King George County. If you live or work outside of King George, skip this step.
5. How do automated weather alerts work?
All KGALERT subscribers will receive automated severe weather alerts, such as Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warnings, issued by the National Weather Service for King George County. You have the option to subscribe to several other weather alerts.
6. I'm a service authority customer but don't know which system serves my home. How do I know which category to sign up for?

7. Will my contact information be shared with others?
No. The information that you provide will be used only for this organization for notification purposes. We will not give or sell your contact or location information to any vendor or other organization.
8. How do I verify a notification I've received is legitimate and from KGAlert?
If you are ever unsure if a message you have received is legitimate, check the phone number or email address to confirm it matches the following commonly used contact methods:
