King George County Schools Nutrition Support

Families can apply for free and reduced-price meal benefits at any time during the school year. If a family’s income changes—due to furloughs, layoffs, or job losses—they may become newly eligible according to federal income guidelines and can apply immediately. Once approved, benefits remain valid for the rest of the school year and for up to 30 school days into the following school year, even if the family’s income changes again.

King George County Schools recognizes that the current federal government shutdown and furloughs may be affecting some families. If your household has been impacted, please reach out to your school counselor or school social worker for help connecting with community resources and supports.
