Under the direction of the Athletic Programs Supervisor and Recreation Programs Supervisor, King George County Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of programs from which the public can participate. Programs are designed in a way to attract as many citizens as possible to experience an activity they have not participated in before; to enhance skills already acquired; and/or the desire to learn and participate at a reasonable cost. Upon experiencing a particular activity, participants may find themselves continuing on with the department when possible; expanding their horizons through programs conducted by businesses; or gaining certifications and possibly teaching a program in the community.

Our Athletic Division is responsible for organizing various recreational programs/leagues for all ages, the exception being youth baseball and softball which is conducted through King George Little League and several independent teams and youth football (flag and tackle) that is coordinated by the King George Youth Athletic Association. Fall/Spring and Indoor Soccer, Wrestling, Basketball, Tennis, Gymnastics, Women's Boot Camp are just a sampling of programs sponsored by the County.

In addition to organizing athletic programs and leagues, this division is responsible for scheduling the fields at the County parks, Hunter Field, Ralph Bunche field, the schools' indoor and outdoor recreation spaces after 6:00p.m on weekdays and weekends (for recreational activities), Old King George Elementary School and Old King George Middle School.
