The tourism grant application is a mechanism for funding generated pursuant to VA State Code § 58.1-3819, which states the designated funds must be spent solely for (i) tourism and travel and/or (ii) marketing of tourism or initiatives that, as determined after consultation with the local tourism industry organizations, including representatives of lodging properties located in the county attract travelers to the locality, increase occupancy at lodging properties, and generate tourism revenues in the locality.

Funding applications are being accepted for the first half of FY2019.  The deadline for first half round funding requests is October 15, 2018 at 4:30 pm.  Applications can be submitted via email to michele@yeskinggeorge.com, or can be mailed or hand delivered to Michele Washington at 10459 Courthouse Drive, Suite 200, King George, VA 22485.  All applications received within the open period will be reviewed by the TAC and submitted to the King George County Board of Supervisors for final approval. Successful applicants should expect a minimum administrative process of one (1) month from the approval date before receiving TAC grant funds.
