• Items with a three (3) week checkout:

  • Manga and Graphic Novels
  • Vox Books
  • Club Carry Outs
  • Instructional Kits
• Items with a one (1) week checkout: 
  • DVDs and Blu-Rays
  • Whazoodles
  • Launchpads
  • Book Buddy
  • Periodicals
  • Virginia Backpacks

Checkout Limits

• Items limited to one (1) checkout per library account:
  • Book Buddy
  • Virginia Backpack
  • County Resources
• Items limited to two (2) checkouts per library account:
  • Launchpads
  • Whazoodles
• Items limited to five (5) checkouts per library account:
  • DVDs and Blu-rays
  • Instructional Kits
  • Vox Books
• All other library materials are limited to fifty (50) items per library account.
• Library patrons are limited to a total of fifty (items) per library account.
• Renewal of library materials shall be limited to two (2) additional borrowing periods.

Overdue Fines

• The Smoot Library does not charge overdue fines as of July 1, 2025
• Items forty-five (45) days overdue will automatically be considered lost.  The replacement costs will be charged to patron accounts.  
• Lost fees may not be waived once the item is ninety (90) days overdue.
