  • Managing growth, water and sewer infrastructure, large projects like data centers and solar farms, developer accountability for demand on infrastructure
  • Traffic safety for specific intersections along Rt. 3 & 301, as well as Arnolds Corner and Owens/Windsor, pedestrian connectivity and access
  • Teacher retention and pay, staffing and maintenance

View the public's questions for the board of supervisors and all responses to the survey at kinggeorgecountyva.gov/102925surveyresults.

Key facts shared during the town hall include:

King George County has the lowest personal property rate in the region at $3.25 per $100 value. This results in a total tax of $812.50 for a vehicle valued at $25,000.

King George has one of the lower real estate tax rates in the region at $0.68 per $100 value. This results in a total tax of $2,380.00 for a home valued at $350,000.

Investment Revenues for 2025 Calendar Year (Jan–Sep 2025) total $2,715,077.93 and for 2026 Fiscal Year (Jul–Sep 2025) total $907,282.94.

County debt profile (as of June 30, 2025, excluding service authority) with principal and interest for fiscal years 2026–2050 is $152,176,163.

Financial statements (from fiscal year 2024) resulted in $2,941,759 under budget for general fund expenditures with a total account balance of $43,610,978 in unassigned general fund finances (i.e. savings).

The county maintains a healthy debt to savings ratio. The strong reserves allow the county the flexibility to utilize the general fund balance for unexpected emergencies, major capital projects or to maintain services during times of unlikely economic downturn.

Through sound financial management practices, the county is set to make stable financial decisions while maintaining low tax rates for residents seeking this balance with high quality of life programs and services from their local government.

The board of supervisors plans to host another town hall after the holiday season, so stay tuned to learn more about how to engage with your locally elected officials.
